Meet Xavier
When Xavier was born, his mum, Kelly sensed that something wasn’t right. Despite her concerns being repeatedly dismissed as ‘just a phase’, Kelly chose to trust her instincts and continued to push.
In November 2023, at just two and a half years old, Xavier was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes painful ulcers to the inner lining of the large intestines.
In the weeks that followed, Xavier was in and out of hospital. So much so that their admissions blurred together, their worries and anxieties grew and by Christmas Eve, Kelly and her family were exhausted – physically, mentally and emotionally.
During the Christmas holidays, in the midst of all the stress and uncertainty, the Clown Doctors came to visit and gave Kelly a gift of something she was not expecting…
