Play Pickleball
Clown Doctors Australia is excited to introduce Pickle for a Giggle - a DIY Pickleball fundraiser, allowing anyone to host a Pickleball game in support of Clown Doctors Australia, anytime, anywhere – and we would love for you and your Pickler peers to get involved.
Whether it’s a casual rally between two Picklers or a Pickleball tournament, every dollar raised brings a smile to children and older people in hospitals when they need it most.
Meet Xavier
When Xavier was born, his mum, Kelly sensed that something wasn’t right. Despite her concerns being repeatedly dismissed as ‘just a phase’, Kelly chose to trust her instincts and continued to push.
In November 2023, at just two and a half years old, Xavier was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes painful ulcers to the inner lining of the large intestines.
In the weeks that followed, Xavier was in and out of hospital. So much so that their admissions blurred together, their worries and anxieties grew and by Christmas Eve, Kelly and her family were exhausted – physically, mentally and emotionally.
During the Christmas holidays, in the midst of all the stress and uncertainty, the Clown Doctors came to visit and gave Kelly a gift of something she was not expecting…
